First Halloween Partayyyy!!!!

Happy almost Halloween to all!
We have had a very busy week with the BIG move into our new home so I haven't been able to get to a computer to update the blog!
Sophia is doing really well.  She is slowly getting used to her new home and has had a few rough nights adjusting to the new noises and creeks of the house.  She is also teething again (two more top teeth are getting close) and just had her seasonal flu shot and H1N1 shot.  My arms are still in pain after 2 days so I can only imagine how her little thighs feel :(  I also ended up with a fever, aches, pains and chills for about 36 hours which was not fun at all.  I could hardly lift Sophia up and spent most of the day laying on the floor beside her to entertain.  She seems to be feeling unwell today and as you can see from the above photos was not a happy skunk!
Today was Sophia's first of two Halloween parties!  Today was our Mum's group party and tomorrow is the co-workers party.  Sophia was a bit unsure of all the costumes and really didn't like my afro/70's disco queen wig!  She is also going through a real clingy stage as of late and doesn't seem to want me to ever put her down or be out of her sight.... My arms are not liking this stage.
Relic (my Dad) came to stay with us for a night and Sophia really took to him after awhile.  She was unsure at first and they had quite a few staring contests but eventually Sophia broke and giggled her way into Relic's heart....
Not much else to report.  We are slowly settling into the house and making it our very own home!!!!

Busy little bee!!!!

Sophia is a BUSY LITTLE BEE now!!! So far I love it!
She is just about crawling the traditional way but manages quite well getting around whether she scoots herself backwards, rolls over, or does circles like a daddy long leg with one leg! She NEVER stops moving..... Her feet are always tapping, her arms are always waving and her head is always shaking "no no no"!!! It is pretty entertaining!
Her latest achievement is standing. She has been able to stand holding onto furniture for almost 2 weeks but for the last two days Sophia will actually stand on her OWN for about 4 or 5 seconds at a time. Really impressive to watch! She is pretty proud of herself and will usually end up trying to jump or wave her hands to dance with excitement which leads to her tumbling over! I think our lives are about to change in BIG way! Yikes!
Sophia is also turning into a great eater. She is mastering her finger foods and really enjoys her rice crispies, cooked peas and carrots, pieces of orange and puffed wheat. She grabs handfulls and stuffs her mouth and then actually chews with her front teeth. Yes.... I say teeth because she offically has two top teeth now. Finally after many sleepless and painfull teething nights!
Hope everyone is well and we will see some of you soon in CUBA!!! The countdown is on!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to EVERYONE!!!!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day filled with family and friends! Adam is away in South Carolina for a week so Sophia and I are celebrating with three turkey dinners! First in line is at Papa and Grandma "Toots" (aka Ken and Kathy), second in line is with Aunty Tori, Uncle Chris and Taylor and Teleah, and last but not least is a dinner at Papa Roger and Gramma "Lene's" (Rog and Arlene).
Wish I could see my parents and my other sister this week-end but I will be seeing them in about 6 weeks in CUBA!!!! I added some pictures of Sophia with Nana (and her cousin Teleah) and Relic on a recent visit! Was nice to see them but we miss them soooooo much.... Love you Mom and Dad!
Hope you enjoy Sophia's 8 month photo. We are getting pretty good at coming up with creative ideas for her photo shoots! We have a really good idea for her 9 month photo on October 31st! Stay tuned to see it!!!!
Sophia is mastering walking (holding our hands of course) and standing up holding furniture. She prefers that over sitting or belly time. I am trying to get her used to sitting on her knees and so far she is tolerating it. I still think she may briefly crawl but will quickly take up walking. My life is about to get REALLY busy!
Sophia's top right tooth finally broke through last night and the other three top teeth are close behind. She is about to change her look with a mouth full of chompers.... She may also be switching to formula REALLY soon if she keeps biting her mama... :(

Learning to blog....

I am hoping that all of my family and friends will enjoy this blog. I realized it would be easier to post updates and pictures of Sophia on here rather than sending out enormous and endless emails to you all! You all know how much I LOVE taking pictures!

So....here is the latest!

Sophia just turned 8 months last week and had quite the first week to boot.... The poor girl not only ended up with a Flu/Cold virus but is also cutting 4 teeth on the top. One of her top teeth is finally poking through now. She has had many sleepless nights but seems to be sorting herself out now. Adam and I were also sick along with Sophia so it was not a happy household. Sophia and I are almost 100% and Adam is not far behind.

Sophia's latest stats:

Weight: 16 lbs 10 oz (a bit of a pipsqueak right now but she'll catch up!!!)
Height: 27 1/2 inches

Sophia is a really strong baby and I am starting to think she may walk before she ever crawls. She is getting close to crawling but would rather be standing or holding herself up on furniture. She is quite the ham and is loving entertaining us at every meal. She waves hello and good-bye to everyone and has an ear to ear smile on her face 24/7! She is almost constantly "talking" (not sure where she gets that from....he he!) and loves making little noises for me to copy. We sometimes spend 2 or 3 minutes copying eachother back and forth!

Adam and I take possession of our new house on October 22nd and are really looking forward to our move. We have been really lucky and spoiled by Gramma Lene and Papa Roger while staying here, but I am sure they are looking forward to getting their lives and their space back!
Hope you are all well and hope you enjoy this little piece of us!
